The Gretsch G5122 has the playability, the looks, and the sounds to set it apart from the crowd.

In the last few years, Gretsch has started supplying Korean-import instruments of exceedingly high quality, including the celebrated Gretsch G5122. This guitar offers a lot of “twang” for the buck. So, if you’re fascinated in a guitar with a little dissimilar feel than, say, a Gibson Les Paul or Fender Stratocaster, you will have to in all probability give the G5122 a look. What does it have to offer?

Features
The hollowbody G5122 sports a laminated maple top, body, and neck. A 22-fret rosewood fingerboard is standard, as are the medium jumbo frets. The scale is 24.56″ with a nut width of 1-11/16″ (43mm). The guitar is also outfitted with two chrome-covered Dual-Coil humbucking pickups. The G5122 features G-Arrow Knobs, frequent Gretsch strap knobs, chrome hardware, and vintage-style machine heads. A Bigsby B60 vibrato and an Adjusto-Matic bridge finish the picture.

Performance
We tested the G5122 through a Dr. Z MAZ-18 NR combo and a Fender Twin Reverb. Through both amplifiers, the Gretsch just oozed vintage twang. We couldn’t support but play galore of our bestloved Beatles, Chet Atkins, and even Brian Setzer licks. The stock pickups did a fine occupation of translating the naturally big sound of the guitar.

The clean tones were big, clear, and powerful. When we cranked the amps a bit, it had just sufficient grit to cut through a mix. This is unquestionably no shredder axe, so don’t buy it if you’re in a Dragonforce tribute band. But if you’re into classic rock, blues, jazz, or country, you could unquestionably find a use for the G5122.

Few guitars are perfect, however, so we did have numerous niggles here and there. The tuners, altho keeping the tuning well, still felt cheap and could stand to be upgraded. The drifting bridge felt a bit odd, but it didn’t affect the intonation.

We were very pleased with the overall fit and finish. The guitar has a distinctive Walnut Stain finish that likewise contributes to the classy, vintage feel. Honestly, it make the guitar look a lot more costly that it in truth is. We were likewise happy with the action. We had no issues with either lead or rhythm work. We only had to make a good deal of minor adjustments to the bridge and truss rod to get things working the way we wanted.

The Bottom Line
It’s hard not to love the Gretsch G5122. It has the playability, the looks, and the sounds to set it detached from the crowd, particularly with the finelooking finish. It’s light sufficient to play a three hour set and not break your back. Most of all, it is price (around $700 new) is affordable.

Name of Gear: Gretsch G5122
List Price: $1,000.00
Manufacturer Info: Gretsch Musical Instruments; gretsch.com
Pros: Wonderful vintage feel; clean, tough sound; splendid value
Cons: Cheap tuners

Twin Guitar StandThe Mighty Bright XtraFlex Duet Super L.E.D. Music Light uses two specially-designed heads that disseminate light evenly, without any annoying hot spot to washout print and make your music hard to read. The twin, highly flexable arms are easy to position to put light in tight places, and they likewise make it very easy to fold the unit into a little package for easy storage. The Mighty Bright XtraFlex Duet is equipped with a base that allows the light to be used as either a clip on or as a freestanding unit. This skillfulness makes the XtraFlex Duet perfective for lighting things other than music- racks, pedal setups on dimly lit stages and mixing boards will all benefit. By P. Schmidt
I have gone through a long series of music stand lights over the last 30 years or so, always attempting to find a ‘better mousetrap’. I desired a small, lightweight illuminating device that could run without necessitating to be plugged in and would still take up a minimum of space in my instrument case(s).My latest is the new XtraFlex Duet lamp from Mighty Bright, a company with lots of dissimilar models. The Duet is the dual lamp version of the regular XtraFlex lamp, being identical except for the extra light emitting head. The base unit is just huge sufficient to hold the battery comprised of three AAA alkaline cells, plus the spring clip mechanism that grabs onto your music stand, music folder, or book. Extending from the top are two narrow goosenecks that terminate in penny-sized LED heads, one super-bright white LED per head. Each head likewise has an on/off switch and a lens that distributes the LED light over a wide area of with regards to the size of a normal page of music. The goosenecks are flexible sufficient to concede them to be without apparent effort wrapped around the base unit for storage, yet firm sufficient to support the weight of the LED heads in whatsoever position you place them.Having a distinguished power switch for each head is a nice touch, because if you only need light from one head you may turn the other one off to save battery life. However, I suspect that Mighty Bright just put two gooseneck/head assemblies on a single base unit and shrugged their collective shoulders when they ran into this meant having two power switches. Hard to be sure, but it’s the results that count in this case.Battery life is good, since by my calculations and experiences with other AAA powered LED lamps, you ought to be capable to get rather a few hours out of a battery set.Brightness is not overwhelming, but is surely adequate to make pages of music without apparent effort legible in even the darkest orchestra pits.I find that this lamp does a better occupation of lighting a pair of side-by-side pages than my former Mighty Bright lamp, the Mighty Bright Triple LED Music Stand Light, which was larger, heavier, could not reach over tall music as well, and was in general less flexible in dissimilar situations.I would rate this lamp 5 stars, except for the more or less lower than desired build quality—professionals would like to see a device that is just a bit less typical-Chinese-plastic……for example, a pro who uses a lamp frequently, or a church that uses them twice a week for hand bell choir rehearsals and services (for example), might suppose to change batteries oftentimes sufficient that they would be grateful for beefed up version.Still, a very nice lamp reasonably priced at regarding $20.12 of 12 humans found the following review helpful.
By Matthew Chafin
This light’s is outstanding so far. I applied it for the primary time on a gig two nights in a row, 4 hours each and the batteries are still going strong. Light out put is great; we used it to illumine part of our little stage to aid tear down when it was dark.9 of 9 humans found the following review helpful.
By J. Chang
I purchased both the Mighty Bright XtraFlex Duet Super LED light as well as the SUper GigLight. The Mighty Bright Duet is rather dim by comparing to the Super Giglight. However it is with regards to 60% cheaper. I have just noticed that Mighty Bright has a new Duet light out with 4 rather of 2 LEDs. Perhaps I ought to return the one I have and order the new model instead.See all 70 client reviews…

If you’re a guitar player who gigs on any regular basis and you use a combo amp or little speaker cabinet, you’ve in all probability dealt with how to make sure both you and your audience may listen you properly. I’ve played more than my percentage of gigs with a single 1×12″ combo placed on a milk crate or chair so I may listen myself better. While such improvised solutions may carry out adequately, for assorted years a heap of makers have made committed guitar amp stands that carry out their intended occupation in addition to looking far more professional on stage. The question still remains, however. Do you need one?

Why You Need One
I believe an amp stand is an inexpensive and professional solution to assure that you may listen your playing more clearly. When you’re using a 1×12 or 2×12 cabinet that is placed directly on the floor, the sound is purposed at your knees, not your ears. You are unable to listen higher-level frequencies especially, so angling the amp is critical. While placing an amp on a chair or milk crate does aid listen the sound better, having an amp at an angle results in a superior auditory experience for both the player and the audience.

Different Types of Stands
When you’re buying goods for an amp stand, then, what ought to you look for? First, you must recognise that there are two dissimilar types of solutions available. Some humans prefer the “wedge” solution where the guitar amp or cabinet sits on an angled wedge that modifies the angle of the amp while holding back the amp’s coupling with the floor, which a heap of maintain improves the amp’s bass response. Other stands both angle and elevate the amplifier or cabinet. Personally, I commend the second solution, since it makes adjusting the amp’s controls much having little impact as well.

Features
You also want to make sure the stand has the features your require. Look for a stand that has rubber pads that will keep the amplifier from getting scuffed. Certainly, you want to make sure that the stand may accommodate the weight of your amplifier. And don’t push the weight! For example, if your amp stand may accomodate a 75 lbs amplifier, I’d commend not putting more than 65 lbs on the stand. Have galore leeway just to be safe. Also, you’ll want a stand that is adaptable in height. The better stands will offer assorted dissimilar levels of height. Finally, you’ll want a stand that folds up effortlessly for travel, since you’ll be using the stand at a assortment of gigs.

Separate Head and Cabinet?
If you use combo amps, you’ll have no problem using an amp stand to support you get a better sound for live use. If you use a distinguished head and cabinet, your choices are a bit more limited. Obviously, you can’t place the head and cabinet on a stand that’s angled, or the head will slide off. However, if you use a stand such as an On-Stage RS7705 Adjustable Amplifier Stand, you will be capable to place the head on the stand and lean the cabinet up versus the stand at an angle. I oftentimes use a Mesa/Boogie Mark V head with a Mesa Rectifier 2×12 cabinet, and this is the setup I run.

The Bottom Line
So, whether you’re playing at a local club or a big festival, a guitar amplifier stand may be an priceless piece of gear for making sure that both you and your audience listen your outstanding playing the way it’s meant to be heard.

Many times due a heap of delays in paying our bills or the credit card payments, we have a bad credit score. Some have has this problem to the extent that they had to file bankruptcy to save them selves. Now these humans have a tough time applying for home loans and FHA loans. There are three major agencies that allot credit scores in the US. On the top of them all is FICO.

What is FICO score?

Fair Isaac Corporation (FICO) assigns score amongst 300 and 850 to the person that describes his / her credit worthiness. That is the FICO score. This score would determine the rate of interest you will have to compensate on any credit or loan. The higher the score, the more is your credit worthiness. Hence you shall land up paying less. And the reversal of this applies for the bad scorers.

What is the minimum FICO credit score requirement to get a mortgage loan?

One thing you will have to perceive is that there are no preset rules in this regard. Basically there are a great deal of thumb rules that guide such applications. Nothing here is hard & fast. Various loan programs require dissimilar levels of minimum satisfactory credit scores. When it comes to home loans at the end it is the mortgage company’s own wish if they want to give you the loan or not.

VA or FHA loans = 580 or more

USDA loans = 620 or more

Conventional loans = 720 or more

On an average, the persons who are above 620 in their score do not have much difficulty. It won’t be faulty to say that it is a safe limit and one will have to undertake never to fall under that.

Do I have any ray of hope to a home loan?

With the new Stimulus Package, the Federal Government is giving out FHA loans and VA loans rather liberally. They perceive that people are going through a tough time and having low credit scores is rather understandable. The new law has not set any minimal adequate for the purpose credit score. So you may genuinely get lucky and get a loan. For this you may contact the counselors appointed by US Federal Housing & Urban Development (HUD) Department.
