Great inside view of Martin Guitars rich history By Kevin J. Van Pay Even altho I own more Taylors than Martins (6 Taylors and 3 Martins), I absolutley love this book. Richard Johnston and Dick Boak take Mike Longworth’s classic book and exaggerate it with great, honorable clear or deep perception and great pictures. They are not affrighted to show the warts along with the wondrous history that has made Martin such a phenominal company. It’s fun to see the stats on the the differnt models and the fixed number of craftsmen they had making these instruments for much of their history. The other fun thing, is you get a good sense of the musical styles and fads that happened throughout America for the duration of the past 175 years, and how that impacted Martin’s direction. If you ever get the prospect to visit the factory, you won’t be sorry. I’ve stopped by four dissimilar times for the duration of the past ten years; and the new museum, store and picking room are a huge betterment over my primary visit in ’99. Kevin – Green Bay, WI

It’s crammed with detail after detail. See Kevin’s review here on Amazon, he covers things very nicely. Time for me to get back to that book…
