There is not one thing worst than a bad skin day, particularly when those ‘bad skin day pic’s’ are being tagged and shared all over the internet! In this ‘Healing Brush’ Tutorial I introduce you to the art of applying, digital foundation! Let me take you through the proficiencies Adobe Photoshop & Elements uses to ‘Brush Away Blemishes’ and remove any unsightly spot, mole or pimple that just shouldn’t be there! Introducing the ‘Healing Brush’. 1. In the toolbox click on the Healing Brush. This is the icon that kinda looks like a band-aid or plaster. Make sure you don’t click on the ‘Spot Healing Brush’. 2. Zoom in as tight as you may on your image. It compensate to have a high-resolution effigy to work with, this makes it more comfortable to work on the finer details of the skin. Before proceeding… 3. Go to Window in Photoshop and select ‘Layers’ from the drop-down menu. This action brings up the Panel. You may distinguished the Layers Panel by dragging it onto the main screen and closing down the dock. You may drag and position it where ever it suits. With our Background Layer in place we are now going to invent a ‘New Layer’ above the Background Layer. 4. Click on the ‘Create Layer Icon’. This is the icon that sits to the left of the ‘half black, half white circle’ at the top in Elements and is down the bottom of the panel in the full Photoshop. 5. ‘Layer 1′ will now appear above Background. Double click on Layer 1 and you may rename it whatsoever you choose, but for this example, we will rename it – Healing. A good idea is to name your layers the name of the edit that is being done. This just makes things requiring little effort for referencing. 6. Now click on the ‘Healing Brush’ icon from the toolbox. 7. Using the square bracket keys on your keyboard you may adjust the brush size. Clicking on the left square bracket key reduces the size of the brush. We want the brush to be around the same size or more or less more spectacular than the blemish. 8. Holding down the Alt key you then click on a clean area of the skin close to the blemish. Releasing the Alt key go back and brush over the blemish. Like magic it’s gone! If you find this function not working make sure that ‘All Layers’ is ticked up in the choices bar and try again. 9. Holding down the space bar just scroll all over the effigy obliterating all those undesirable spots! Your done! How far we go with retouching is altogether up to the person user. Some humans may want to keep that beauty spot that adds reputation to their aspect or that mole that makes you, you. This is a wondrous tool nevertheless. In my next tutorial on Airbrushing I will show you how to brush away other imperfections on the skin, like too much glare or shine on the forehead.
